Stennis International Airport, August 16th, 2021 — Stennis Fire Department recognizes Captain Joshua Bell for Pro-Tec’s Employee of the 2nd Quarter 2021.
Joshua Bell was hired at Stennis as a Station Captain in March of this year. Captain Bell also works as a firefighter in the City of Waveland, Mississippi. He has been an active member of the fire service for ten years. Six of those years, he has been an ARFF crewmember here at Stennis International Airport. Captain Bell says, “I am passionate about the fire service career field and aim to learn and contribute as much as I can in hopes to progress the fire service for our customers.” Chief Chase Edwards comments, “Writing the award for Josh was easy. He is a stellar fire officer, and we are grateful to call him our Captain.”
Captain Joshua Bell has distinguished himself by going above and beyond the call of duty whenever possible. When given a task, Captain Bell completes his tasks and projects with expert detail and under set timelines. When he was given a recent task of ensuring compliance of apparatus, tools, and equipment, Captain bell mitigated possible write-ups and began procurement processes to ensure that the vehicles would be optimal for readiness and inspection.
His radio communication stands out among other responding agencies. He is recognized positively within the fire service community for his professionalism and poise during emergencies. Operationally, Captain bell is often sought out and asked for direction and advice by other employees.
Captain Bell continues to grow his knowledge in his career field by constantly studying and challenging himself to perform at a high level when needed.
