Chief Barone Inducted Into Hall of Fame

Mobile Fire Chief, Ralph Barone was honored for his years of dedicated service and accomplishments in emergency services by the Military Heritage Foundation. He is one of only four inductees to the Department of Defense Fire and Emergency Service Hall of Fame for 2023.

Chief Barone started with Pro-Tec in May 2022 as our fire chief for the Mobile Airport Authority where he supervises ARFF services at two commercial airports and as an advisor for a GA airport owned by the Authority. Chief Barone had a distinguished forty-year career as a DoD firefighter, both military and civilian prior to joining Pro-Tec. His last post was fire chief at Joint Base Andrews. In addition to his duties as the Base Fire Chief, he was “dual hatted” also serving as the Major Command Fire Chief for Air Force District Washington. As stated in his hall of fame nomination, “Chief has led some of the most complex and award-winning emergency response agencies in the world. He has been an incident commander during complex land, sea, air, and space launch incidents that required seamless integration of local, state, and federal agencies.”

Chief Barone brings all his experience and dedication to his new home in Mobile, AL with Pro-Tec Fire Services.
