Annual Live Fire Training at Lynchburg Regional Airport

The week of April 23-29 was a busy time for the members of the Lynchburg Regional Airport ARFF station. The Virginia Department of Fire Programs brought the mobile ARFF simulator for annual live fire training.

Throughout the week 56 members of mutual aid companies trained with ARFF personnel, covering ARFF truck operations, airport and aircraft familiarization, live fires including pit fires and aircraft interior fires. Several ARFF firefighters from Summit Aviation located in Middletown, Delaware & Salsbury, Maryland did their 139 truck burns.

On Friday morning while crews from Lynchburg Fire Department were training with Airport personnel a video was being filmed to be used on Lynchburg City’s website.
